Hello friends!! December is always a memorable month of the year, isn't it?! This year, with the Creative Embellishments Blog, I wanted to go in a different direction. I found some beautiful chippy designs from the shop that are just perfect for this wizard theme. Yes, these papers are inspired by Harry Potter. Instead of going in a witchy direction, I decided to mix it with the holiday theme. I really love using supplies in creative ways. Who would've thought to use books with that rice paper? These flourishes work perfectly as snow, but to also signify house colors. *Wink*
Product list
**Let's create some magic, shall we?!**
1. You'll want to begin by laying down a nice layer of decoupage glue
*Hint: I suggest applying your rice paper in sections
2. While that dries, alter your flourish and background book pieces using embossing powders
3. Next, you will paint your book edges with black impasto paint
4. After the stocking is completely dry, distress the edges then apply your protective coat
5. Use gold wax to distress the raised surfaces of your chipboard broom and shaker
*Hint: This gives the piece some extra contrast
6. Begin assembling the layers starting with the broom and flourishes
7. Choose your shaker pieces and assemble your shaker
8. Then adhere the shaker and other book pieces
9. For finishing touches, add some sequins
*Hint: These give the piece extra snazz and a finished look
**Here are some close-ups for you to enjoy!!**
**I hope you are inspired**
